Chalet Bonjour-Athenaise, Ski Chalet Val d'Isere
Added to our chalet collection in 2011, we are very proud of the Chalet Bonjour-Athenaise. Ski Bonjour chalets are all high quality, but the Chalet Bonjour-Athenaise raises these standards
even higher. Its position is amazing, only one minute from the Funival funicular to the top of the Bellevarde, with the Face de Bellevarde Olympic ski run and the 'Ski Tranquil' zone. It is also
only one minute to the Bubble lift, followed by a two-minute ski run into the Tignes ski sector. There are homeward bound green, blue and red runs.
The Chalet Bonjour-Athenaise in the la Daille sector of Val d’Isère is a beautiful, modern, detached chalet, built in the traditional style. It is operated as two smaller independent chalets,
each with their own entrance, dining and sitting area, one sleeping eight and the other ten. However it can be occupied by one large group, sleeping 18 in total. There are eight bedrooms,
seven of which are fully en-suite, with the eighth having a bathroom and toilet immediately across the corridor.
For convenience, the Chalet Bonjour-Athenaise cannot be beaten. Just one minute from the slopes and lifts, it is also very close to the ski school, nursery slopes, shops, bars and
restaurants. Although situated out of the hurly burly of central Val d’Isère, the free shuttle bus, stopping just outside the chalet, arrives in Val d’Isère centre in five minutes and runs all day until
2.30 am.

Chalet Facilities
All the rooms are within range of our free Wi-Fi network for those who bring their own laptops or handhelds. All bedrooms have a hair dryer. All bathrooms have a heated towel rail. Unlike many
chalets, all bedrooms are lockable. All beds have individual reading lights and there are spare mains sockets in each room for charging mobiles, computers, toothbrushes, etc. Towels are
changed midweek. All bathrooms benefit from an abundant supply of hot water, although, as energy costs in France are high, we do ask that people use these with care. There is under-floor
heating throughout the chalet.
Sun Terrace
Outside the ground floor chalet entrance is a large sun terrace, where those not skiing can top up their tan on sunny days.
To Enhance Your Stay At Chalet Bonjour-Athenaise:
- Arrival
On arrival, bags and skis can be unloaded directly outside the chalet, where staff will, whenever possible, help to carry them to your room.
- Staff
The Chalet Bonjour-Athenaise has a staff of three. All are encouraged to socialise with guests and to be available to offer help and advice when needed.
- Drinks Reception
Before the evening meal on the day of your arrival, after having settled yourself into the Chalet Bonjour-Athenaise, you will be made to feel welcome with an introduction to our staff over a
glass of bubbly.
- Car Parks
There are two large car parks less than 100 metres from the chalet. One is covered. Both have a weekly charge and can be reserved in advance on the official Val d’Isère website.
- Smoking
Our ski chalets are all non-smoking. Smoking is only permitted on the balconies and terraces.

Chalet Bonjour-Athenaise (Lower)
This comprises the ground-floor level, which can be used as an independent eight-person chalet, with its own dining and sitting area.
- Entrance from Terrace
On entering the chalet, there are ski and boot lockers and storage for jackets, etc, discretely set into cupboards in the foyer. The hallway, formed with extensive use of timber beams, leads
through to an open-plan sitting room, dining room and kitchen, with the bedrooms situated on either side of the hallway.
- Dining and Sitting room
The sitting area has a comfortable sofa and seating for eight people. The dining table seats eight. There is extensive use of timber throughout this room and the two windows give superb
views of the slopes and lifts, including the finish of the downhill slalom courses. There is a CD player with iPhone / iPod plug-in.
- Bedrooms
There are four twin bedrooms, three of which have luxury bathrooms and toilets en-suite, and one with its own luxury bathroom and toilet immediately across the corridor. The twin beds in each
room can be pushed together. No two bedrooms are the same and they are well furnished with plenty of storage space.
Chalet Bonjour-Athenaise (Upper)
The upper floors create a ten-person luxury ski chalet, again with its own dining and luxury sitting areas.
- Entrance from External Staircase on Terrace
On entering the chalet, there are ski and boot lockers and storage for jackets, etc, discretely set into cupboards in the foyer. The hallway, formed with extensive use of timber beams, leads
through to an open-plan dining room and kitchen, with the bedrooms situated on either side of the hallway. The huge luxury sitting room is upstairs.
- Dining Room
The dining table seats 12 and the room is beautifully lit. There is extensive use of timber beams throughout this room and two windows give superb views of the slopes and lifts, including the
finish of the downhill slalom courses. One window opens to give access to a long balcony.
- Sitting Room
This is a huge 700 square foot room occupying the whole of the top floor and offering amazing views from windows to the front and rear. The huge front windows overlook the OK, Orange,
Verte and Triffolet ski runs, the Funival funicular, Daille bubble and chair-lift. Extensive use of timber beams, leather seating and cowhide floor coverings, together with superb lighting, create a
wonderful ambiance. Two extra sofas, in the eves, convert to two additional comfy beds to allow the chalet to be used for ten guests, although we ask that young children should not sleep in
the sitting room. (The furnishings quality is high and not suitable for unsupervised raucous games!)
- Bedrooms

Chalet Bonjour-Athenaise (all floors)
The Chalet Bonjour-Athenaise upper and lower chalets can be easily integrated to create one large chalet for up to 18 guests. When this is required, the sitting room can comfortably
accommodate all 18 guests and they can all eat together in the upper dining room.
Points to Note
Everyone enjoys a few drinks more than normal on a ski holiday and our staff will provide you with plenty of wine during dinner. However, we do not at any time tolerate loutish behaviour or
drunkenness that disturbs or upsets our other guests, our staff or our neighbours.
During your stay, our chalet staff will look after you to the best of their abilities. It must be remembered that they are not full time professional staff, so please do not expect levels of
service to reach that of luxury hotels.
French regulations regarding 'on mountain' activities are unclear and ambiguous. We reserve the right to withdraw activities such as ski hosting or tobogganing nights if requeired to
do so by the authorities.
