Ski Tignes les Brévières, France
For your Tignes ski and snowboarding holidays, the alpine village of Tignes les Brévières is the perfect location. It is situated in the Tarentaise valley, high up in the French Alps, just off the
main road to Val d'Isère.
The village is the oldest and prettiest of the five villages that make up the skiing and snowboarding resort of Tignes in the huge Espace Killy ski area. Unlike the others, it is relatively
unspoilt, with many of the buildings being old, original and of traditional alpine design. The church, on the main street, just a stone’s throw away from our chalets, dates from the 13th century.
It offers the perfect combination of authentic rural appeal, picturesque views, together with quick, queue-free lifts to 300 kms of world class skiing.
The bubble and a four-man lift located in the village fully integrates Tignes les Brévières with the rest of the Tignes ski area. Our first snow normally arrives in November, allowing a good
ski base to be built up for December skiing. The north facing blue, red and black ski / snowboard runs come right into the village and keep their snow well into May, long after the Tignes ski
resort closes. Of course, there is also the beginners' slope, serviced by a button lift from the village.
Two of the five local restaurants are at the foot of the pistes, and make a great place to stop for lunch or for a 'vin chaud' at the end of the day.
For both keen skiers and novices alike, Tignes les Brévières is a perfect base for Tignes ski holidays or of course for a Tignes snowboarding holiday. A wander around this traditional
Savoyard mountain village (dating from the 13th century) reveals traditional stone farmhouses, narrow streets, and wooden chalets.
There are also ski hire shops, a ski school, bars and restaurants, tourist information, post office, cash machine, church and an outlet to buy your lift pass. All these amenities are less than
two minutes walk from your ski chalet.
