There are many bars to choose from in Val d’Isère so it can be a little daunting to find the perfect spot for a drink on your ski holiday. If you’re looking for great music & atmosphere, then continue reading to discover our top 5 picks (in no particular order) – the best bars in Val d’Isère which we have proudly tried and tested!
1. La Sana
La Sana is the kind of bar that you’ve probably walked by numerous times but never really noticed it. Although the bar is small, it has a great atmosphere. You can admire the local artwork that covers the walls while sipping on a refreshing drink and crunching on your complimentary tortilla chips. Le Sana is located just off the high street and pistes (see map below) so you can pop in after finishing your day on the slopes. On sunnier days, take advantage of the outdoor seating, a perfect spot for people watching.
2. La Baraque
Slightly on the pricey side but 100% worth it! La Baraque is located on the high street opposite the bus station (slightly further along in the direction of La Daille). The super stylish décor and live bands that start at around 19.30 attract both locals and tourists that have had the pleasure of discovering this gem! All outside areas are heated, so you can stay snug and warm while you enjoy your drink. Also serving a range of delicious dishes if you fancy something that isn’t fondue or pizza. If you are looking to have food here, it is definitely recommended to book.
3. Le Cave sur le Comptoir
Le Cave sur le Comptoir is just down the road from La Baraque (opposite the bus station) this small bar prides themselves on good wine and good cheese. On a ski holiday shouldn’t you at least experience that? Sample local wines and cheeses accompanied with a relaxing atmosphere and friendly staff. The bar is open from 16:00 until midnight.
4. Le Hibou
New this season 17/18 Le Hibou is very chilled and has managed to squeeze its way into the bar scene in Val d’Isère. A popular spot for seasonnaires and residents living in the village giving it the relaxed atmosphere that makes it perfect for a drink with friends and family. They also have a great choice of Asian tapas and chicken wings that have already managed to get a name for themselves! The bar is located opposite the Spar petrol station in Val d’Isère (towards La Daille).
5. Le Coins des Amis
Le Coins des Amis – this teeny tiny bar has a whole lot of atmosphere to go with it. The bar itself is small, however daily it has a huge crowd outside as guests enjoy the outside bar and television. Very popular with both locals and guests that come back to Val d’Isère year after year. The bar is open from 11:00 to 02:00 am daily.

- Dicks T Bar – Probably the most famous bar in Val d’Isère. A bit pricey but worth ticking off the list.
- Doudoune – Located underneath Coco Rico (a great après bar). This nightclub has regular DJs and is open until 06:00 am.
- Victors – Take advantage of their happy hour followed by a DJ which will get you on your feet dancing.
- Morris Pub – If you’re looking for live bands and lots of shots, this is your place!
- Petit Danois – Slightly more expensive than other bars in the area. A huge hit with seaosnnaires and tourists.
- Saloon Bar – Saloon now have their second bar in Val d’Isère. Atracting a clientele that love drinking games and dancing!
