Tignes Events & Wilderness Camp
Tignes is a fantastic resort which not only offers a playground for skiers and boarders, but also plenty of activities to try out and discover, as well as events to entertain you during your stay. We thought it was about time we took advantage of some of these experiences by visiting the Wilderness Camp by Evolution 2. We also thought it was about time to get your calendar filled so you can look forward to your next trip out to Tignes whilst the snow is irresistible.
Tignes offers a range of fantastic experiences that no other resort can offer, making it not only a snow-sure resort but also one of a kind. One of these unique experiences is Evolution 2’s Wilderness Camp, located in Tignes les Boisses. The camp is suitable for friends & families age 14+; a great choice for a night out on the chalet staff day off. You will experience a traditional Savoyard feast in a spectacular yurt hidden away in the forest followed by an exhilerating torchlit toboggan ride down to Tignes les Brévières.
Although you may dress yourself ready to spend a night at the North Pole, the log burner and many fire pits in the yurt will mean that you stay toasty and warm for the entire night. If you bring your slippers as well it could well be the icing on the cake! However, you will be more than grateful of the warm, practical clothing when you descend down the mountain on a sledge at the end of the night!
When you arrive at the camp you are welcomed by a delicious glass of Kier, made with local Savoie wine. Everyone then begins to gravitate towards the warm and inviting open fires. The camp even has a bar made out of snow!
Enjoy a delicious, homemade vegetable soup around the warm fire.
The camp’s location is only obvious when pointed out. Although it is in Tignes les Boisses, it is very easy to forget where you are and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere and surroundings.
You are then moved into the Yurts ready for the main course. You cannot help but be wowed by the interior of the yurts. The gentle lighting and ambience creates an unforgettable atmosphere as you look forward to indulging in some traditional mountain cuisine. For the main course you can partake in a cheese fondue, charcuterie board, herb potatoes, pickles and fresh bread. You will most certainly get your cheese fix! Having proudly tried and tested many cheese fondues, this one definitely holds its own. The camp values itself on using local produce, even collecting fallen wood from the surrounding forests to burn on the many fires around the camp.
For dessert, if you still have room you can enjoy homemade meringues dipped in rich Swiss cream. It’s safe to say you may end up rolling out of the yurt once you’ve finished eating all the delicious grub!
Torchlit Toboggan Ride:
Once you have finished your meal you will enjoy an exciting torchlit toboggan ride under the stars all the way down to the village of Brévières – a truly unique and memorable experience!
Overall the night is fantastic. It’s safe to say it’s not like any other visit to a restaurant – Evolution 2 have created an evening that stands out from the rest.
